Enriching lives through On-Site Shared Support
About the Author

Accessible Homes Australia’s On-site Shared Support (OSS) ensures increased independence and improved quality of life for residents living in their communities. These care and support providers offer 24-hour assistance, empowering individuals with disabilities to lead engaged and fulfilling lives.

In addition to the residents’ chosen care providers, the Specialist Disability Accommodation (SDA) OSS provides support to residents, while ensuring cost-effectiveness for the NDIS, with tenants contributing to the shared support. Each year the residents can call for applications and expressions of interest from care providers and choose their OSS provider ensuring autonomy over their care.

Two of our OSS organisations have been widely praised by tenants who’ve recently renominated them for a second year. CareMatch Australia for East Palm Beach and Gold Coast Disability Connect at Hope Island, offering round-the-clock care.

CareMatch Australia founder, Vitori Buatava, said it’s humbling to be nominated for a second year and values the strong relationship he and his team have made with the tenants.

“CareMatch Australia is extremely fortunate to continue providing On-site Shared Support at AHA’s East Palm Beach location, where we’ve developed great relationships with the tenants. This is a large part of our role, creating a connection based on trust where we understand what the participants are going through and how we can help them on a day-to-day basis,” said Buatava.

“Our tenants can need anything and everything and that’s the beauty of CareMatch. We can provide whatever they require to ensure they have a great outcome. Nothing is too small, even if they want to leave the gorgeous beachside location and go out socialising at night – we are here to help them. It’s our role to assist them to live the best life possible.”

We strive to build greater capacity in their day-to-day activities, enabling them to reach their full potential, providing the tools and opportunities for continuous growth, while helping them live fulfilling lives.”

A carer of AHA Founder and CEO, Perry Cross AM, for 15 years, Buatava says it’s been remarkable working alongside the AHA team in a common goal of helping those with disabilities live independently.

“I’ve been involved with Perry and the team for years. The mentality of helping others live to the best of their ability has been a big part of my life. The AHA accommodation model is changing lives assisting individuals to move from living situations that weren’t ideal for their needs to the great locations that AHA offers. It’s transformative,” said Buatava.
