Check Your Eligibility
SDA can be applied for by any participant of the NDIS. Applications are reviewed by the Home and Living Supports team at the NDIA, and applicants are considered for a range of different supported home designs, dwelling types, locations and living situations.
Accessible Homes Australia (AHA) designs, builds and manages permanent home accommodation for people whose disability results in physical impairments. The design type is called “High Physical Supports”, and means that we include many design elements that enable people with physical impairment to live within their home environments in ways they may not be able to do in non-purpose built accommodation.
I you’re interested in exploring living in an AHA home and would like to know if you could be eligible, some initial questions to ask yourself are:
- Am I an NDIS participant?
- Do I use a mobility aid some, most or all of the time? (Or might I in the foreseeable future)?
- Do I require the support of another person (e.g., Support Worker, family or friend) with some, most, or all of my daily activities?
